July News

Well, I should update on what is going on in our lives. First of all, WE HAVE A PIANO! And it's wonderful! Thanks to Mom and Dad, we found a 1906 Beckwith Concert Grand Piano (still an upright). I have loved playing on it so far!

We went to Enterprise for the 24th of July Celebrations for Pioneer Day. The day of, we woke up WAY to early to go do the 5k Fun Run. Tim and Brooklyn were going to run the race and I was going to walk it, but because Brooklyn got to bed really late, she opted to walk the race with me instead. Tim was somehow able to run the whole race with a really good finishing time, despite the fact that he hasn't run since... well, probably last year's fun-run. Amazing... Brooklyn and I did eventually finish (we walked with Tana, Ben and Austen), and afterwards we headed straight to the breakfast. Later we went to the parade, which was great. Brooklyn managed to fight with the best of the kids for the candy that was being thrown out, thanks to Daddy's speed!

Since then, we have had pretty normal days. Tim works, and Brooklyn and I stay at home. It's amazing how the days fly by-- when she is being good of course.

Yesterday was Brooklyn's 6-week checkup and she had to get a few shots. She didn't really like those, though I think she handled it better than I did. She's already over 10 pounds, and she's pretty lengthy as well. She's also started smiling-- REAL SMILES, not just when she's falling asleep. We are thoroughly enjoying her!

Everyone loves holding me... and I love it too!

We love watching all of the faces that Brooklyn likes to make... Who me?!...

Ahh, so tired...

The nearly perfected pout...

Believe it or not, she is completely out of it-- asleep here.

If just really doesn't get any better than this!

And so it begins...

I'm finally doing it... after much convincing from others, and the fact that we now have internet at home, I'm going to attempt to create a blog. I'm still not quite sure what a "blog" is, but hey, here I am anyways!
Here we are, the Shurtliffs. But because there are so many of the Shurtliffs, I better clarify. This blog is for Tim, Amber, our new addition Brooklyn, and whoever else may join the family later on. I'm not sure what I will put here, or if anyone will even care to look at it, but I will do my best to become a "blogger" regardless! This could be interesting...
