We stayed in Georgia just long enough to be there for our 5th Anniversary, which worked out perfect. I planned the day for Tim, and despite a few things not going quite as planned, we still had lots of fun. My parents kept Lydia and Brooklyn so we could spend the day together, without children, which was in and of itself, quite the experience.
We wandered around IKEA (the unplanned part) for a while until we could get into the Bodies Exhibit. We had combo tickets for "Dialog in the Dark" and "Bodies," and they were both pretty cool. Dialog in the Dark was basically a short walk through a few rooms, designed to give you a feel for what it would be like to be blind. We were supposed to feel our way and explore without our sight. It was pretty cool, but I think it could be better.
Then we went right into the Bodies Exhibit, which was my favorite part. The human body really is amazing. I had a firm knowledge of God before I went through the exhibit, but seeing how the body works really shows you that there must be a loving Heavenly Father. Our bodies are miraculous!
Those two exhibits didn't take nearly as long as I thought they might, so we had lots of daylight left. We found Lenox Mall and wandered around several stores, stopping to buy sunglasses for myself and Tim, searching for the perfect pair of red heels (no success), and stopping in the Lindor/Lindt Chocolate store to make our own assortment of chocolates. New favorite? The light blue. You HAVE to try it. It's like cookies and cream. The inside is white chocolate, and the outside is white chocolate with cookie bits all mixed in. YUM
We had a delicious dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, where Tim surprised me with another diamond band for my ring :) Too bad the dinners were so big... we couldn't even order cheesecake. No worries, we had plenty of leftover Lindor truffles.
And then thanks to Taurus, we had an awesome room at the Westin. The whole building is round, so every room (I think), well, at least our room had one whole wall that was a window so we had a great view! It was really pretty when the sun was going down.
I can't believe we've been married for five years. I feel like I've known and shared my life with Tim forever, but at the same time, the past five years have flown by. I guess time really does fly when you're having fun. As we thought about the last five years and were amazed at how much we've done. We both graduated from school, we have 2 kids, we've moved 5 times, lived in 2 states, traveled to China together, Tim went to Alaska, and Tim and I now have our dream jobs.
Tim is a wonderful husband. I know I just said that when I blogged about his birthday, but he really is. I had no idea I could be more in love now than I was five years ago.
Wow. Five years. I wonder what we'll have to reminisce about when we're celebrating 50 years...?
