Thank Goodness for Big Sisters

I know I've already posted about how much of a helper Brooklyn is, but I couldn't resist putting up more pictures of her being a big sister. Sometimes I feel like I spend more of my day guarding Lydia FROM Brooklyn than anything else, but I know she means well, and is only trying to take care of/keep her little sister quiet. Needless to say, I quickly learned what Lydia's "Save me from Brooklyn!" cry sounds like.

If Brooklyn continues on this "mommy training," soon I shouldn't have to do anything. She's basically got everything down. Here are a few of the things Brooklyn has about mastered:
-feeding Lydia anything that resembles a bottle, (ie. contact solution bottle)
-giving Lydia toys and playing with her
-forcing and holding in a pacifier despite rejection
-reading books and singing songs to Lydia
-washing Lydia's face and any exposed body part with wipes
-cutting Lydia's fingernails
-changing diapers

All in all, it's really a lot of fun to watch Brooklyn with Lydia. She obviously loves her a lot because Lydia is one of the very few people that Brooklyn will share her special blanket with. The blue-ish blanket below? That's Brooklyn's.

This is a video of Brooklyn singing "I Am A Child of God" to Lydia to try to get her to stop crying. Who knew it could be sung to ANY tune?
